I went with a more comic book version of Captain America than the Chris Evan’s movie version for this piece.  I thought he needed to look bulkier and weathered like he had been through a war.  This drawing was also a little different from how I go about things too.  This was done on colored Mi Tienes paper and worked in reverse by adding highlights and whites.  Honestly, I kind of liked the process better and seemed easier to me.  But I was trying to do a lot of black backgrounds with extreme highlights at the time and practicing with lighting.  This was done with colored pencils and it was after this phase that I started adding water colors.
